fete 2016

Review for newsletter, Herald, village and church websites.

What a great day, and the rain held off! The fete was opened by our Rev Marcus Purnell and his wife Jane who was given a posy of flowers by Evie Hines.

The Church would like to give massive thanks to all those who contributed to the fete. We are ever grateful for your support and generosity in making this event a success. Thank you for your donations to the stalls, raffle and tombola, for sourcing materials for the games, for cake baking, for providing lots and lots of help on the day and for turning up to enjoy yourselves. The winners of the Men’s caking baking was returning victor, Robert Macleod-Smith; the Young Harry Weston cake baker was Tiffer Purnell with a close second by Jessica Douglas who also won the vegetable figure competition with a delightful sheep!

If you are doing your Duke of Edinburgh award next year and would like to help with the fete as part of your volunteering activity then please contact Sylvia on 812925. We have helped someone with both their bronze and silver awards in the last couple of years.

We raised in excess of £2,200 which will go towards our funds for repairing the church roof.

Thanks from the Church Fete Committee
